I am currently working at Admission Hub, Mainland China department. My position is social media marketing intern. My primary responsibilities are: conducting blog content, market researching, refining webpage, analyzing SEO performance with Google analytics/Semrush and making video content.
Company's current position.
Admission Hub is an immigration/Visa service agency whose target audiences are mainly from 13 countries/regions(Mainland China, Hongkong, India, Taiwan, Vietnam, etc.) It is one of Toronto's highest-rated visa service agencies (4.8/5 on Google Review). Sounds extremely promising, yet it does not mean my company has no shortages.

Biggest Issue.
Because of Covid, our company has completely abandoned the mainland Chinese market during the last two years. This decision has made our company lose the majority of mainland Chinese customers. Although our main page has a high SEO ranking, our mainland Chinese page's ranking is nowhere near. When I typed any related keywords in the search bar on Google in simplified Chinese, none of our previous articles showed up on the first two pages. So, our primary goal now will be to drive as much traffic as possible.

The following steps are what we have been doing to achieve the goal:
We are in dire need of boosting our SEO ranking. To achieve this goal, I will post multiple blog posts per week on our webpage for mainland Chinese users to drive more traffic and enhance our SEO ranking. Furthermore, I placed numerous interlinks to optimize the bounce rate further. Besides, I have brainstormed multiple relevant longtail/shorttail keywords to target our audience.
Also, During my market research on those Visa Service companies whose target audiences are also mainland Chinese, I discovered that my company has not focused on the correct social channel. Our channels were Facebook, Youtube, Instagram and Whatsapp. However, mainland Chinese have a widely divergent preference for social media because of the infamous "Firewall." So, we decided to refocus on social media channels that our target audiences favour, such as Wechat and Xiaohongshu.
Moreover, I will enhance our website design. I will try to improve our website's user experience by enhancing its aesthetic and usability.
In the future, I will keep coming up with more ideas about how to make our content/website more visible and put them into practice.
